WHEN MY CHILDREN were young I became interested in the fine art of OIL PAINTING.

A local instructor was my first experience with classical oil painting techniques. Once that first tube of paint was opened and the brush dabbed into the mixture I was hooked and couldn’t resist the medium.

The next several years were spent practicing the medium and learning the basics. Soon I was able to participate in local exhibits that proved profitable.

THE BEGINNING

My journey with oil painting began with FOLK ART. Known as TOLE PAINTING when it became a popular trend in the mid-1970’s. The passion for this art form soon found me studying with PRICILLA HAUSER whose instruction books and examples are now represented in the SMITHSONIAN in WA, DC.

The LITTLE RED TOLE HOUSE

Below are EXAMPLES of my first INSTRUCTION experience using VOL. 1 For Whom The Brush Toles soon progressed further using the OIL MEDIUM.
